Through hearing the Word preached and studying in a variety of settings on Sunday morning and throughout the week, we strive to have a mind for Christ – as we study the history of God’s mighty acts of love, compassion and forgiveness.
In fellowship with the Holy Spirit and with members of our church, we care for one another, sharing one another’s burdens, helping and encouraging. As we experience God’s love ourselves we want to respond by reaching out to others and witnessing to this love. Our mission programs grow out of our desire to love our neighbors whether they are in our own congregation, our community, or half way across the world.
What We Believe
The following statement is adapted from the Presbyterian Church (USA) website:
We believe that God is the supreme authority throughout the universe. Our knowledge of God and God’s purpose for humanity comes from the Bible, particularly what is revealed in the New Testament through the life of Jesus Christ. Our salvation (justification) through Jesus is God’s generous gift to us and not the result of our own accomplishments. It is everyone’s job — ministers and lay people alike — to share this Good News with the whole world.
